Italian game is very popular opening in club level, but is seen rarely in top level , reason for this is , that black with correct theory can easily and quickly equalize the game . For example , Ruy Lopez is better option for a player who can handle the opening. But Italian game is a nice trampoline for a player who strives for high levels.
